A Note From the Swim Lesson Director, John DeHenzel
Hello PRSR Members,

At last we have kicked off the 2008 season and are well on our way to enjoying another great summer at Pointer Ridge Swim and Racquet.

As your new Swim Lesson Director - I would like to invite anyone interested in private or group lessons to check out this year’s agenda. Furthermore, if you are a competitive swimmer we will be hosting the second annual Stroke and Turn Clinic twice throughout the swim team schedule.

Our lesson plan offers various levels of difficulty that will challenge a swimmer in any skill phase. Private and group lessons will be offered to beginners, intermediates, and advanced swimmers. No matter what your skill level is, we have the right class for you. Please see the attachment: (Swim Lesson Levels), which I put together to break down exactly what you or your children will be learning in each level. I have also attached our swim lesson flyer and schedule.

ADULTS - if you are interested in either private of group lessons please feel free to contact me. I will form groups based on pool availability with regards to your schedule.

I could not be more pleased with the excellent staff we have lined up and ready to jump in to teach you how to swim. I learned how to swim by taking classes through the PRSR swim lesson program, so I am very eager to give back to the program. I started my swimming career at PRSR where I swam for 13 consecutive years. The skills I learned were further developed as I swam for DeMatha High School. Since then, I have been teaching swim lessons for the past four years, including working with special needs participants. Patrick Doyle, Zack Riegel, and Jordon Wallace, will be assisting me in the AM lessons, while Larissa Myers and Amy Lohr will be in charge of PM lessons.

***Patrick Doyle is a four-year scholarship swimmer from the University of Maryland College Park. He has been in charge of both swim lessons and coaching the swim team of his local swimming pool in Norfolk, VA. for the past seven years.

*** Zack Riegel, Amy Lohr, and Larissa Myers have been involved in PRSR's swim lesson program for the past three years and all served as top swimmers for our very own Pointer Ridge Swim Team. Larissa was also assistant coach of the Pointer Ridge Pool swim team for several years.

***Jordon Wallace swam for years competitively at his local pool in Kettering and has been involved with swim lessons for the past ten years.

Once again, don't miss out on this year’s fantastic program. Sign ups are held at the front desk daily. Feel free to contact me at 301-908-0269, or send me an email at Dmflyer05@yahoo.com. I look forward to swimming with you!

Sincerely,

John DeHenzel
